Thanks to the generosity of the Atlanta community and the incredible artists and community that came together for SPECTRUM: the Gender Project, we raised $2400 and were able to support 4 groups doing direct service work locally:
With the wonderful Co-Director of Lost-n-Found Youth, Nasheedah Bynes-Mohammed. Their mission is ‘to work with communities to end homelessness for LGBTQ youth by providing food, shelter and life stabilization services.’ CHECK OUT THEIR WORK- https://www.lnfy.org/With fierce Toni-Michelle Williams, Director of SnapCo, a group ‘working to build a Black Trans Futurist Framework for practical abolition as the way to liberation.’ CHECK OUT THEIR WORK- https://www.snap4freedom.org/homeIn the deep, kind presence of Ms. DeeDee Chamblee, Director of LaGender, Inc., a group that ‘serves the unique needs of the Transgender community in Metro Atlanta for HIV prevention, intervention, education, and other related needs.’ CHECK OUT THEIR WORK- https://www.facebook.com/lagenderinc/
Charis Circle is the final group that we were so excited to support. ‘Together with Charis Books, the nation’s oldest feminist bookstore, Charis Circle encourages the expression of diverse and marginalized voices, fosters sustainable feminist communities, and works for social justice. They work with artists, authors, and activists from across the South and around the world to bring innovative, thoughtful, and life-changing programming and events to feminist communities.’ CHECK OUT THEIR WORK- https://www.chariscircle.org/
