We are extremely excited to present The Race Circus Project video to the public!
You can watch the full length version below, or view it in smaller segments here: https://vimeo.com/showcase/5797138
It’s been a long time in the making and we are so grateful to have been a part of this process with all of the community members that came together to make it possible.
This piece started years ago, when MakeShift Circus Collective set out to ask Atlantans to share their experiences of race 50 years after desegregation. We wanted to explore the questions: Is our city actually integrated? Has integration brought equity? Artists and community members collaborated to host dialogue sessions and then create a circus show based on the stories and experiences shared. The show was performed free of charge in 5 spaces across Atlanta. Alison Daye Theodore of Cinebot Video captured the performance season in this captivating video.
If you feel moved to, please consider making a donation to MakeShift Circus Collective so we can keep doing this work!
